- 125 g (4,4 oz) kefir cheese (well-drained)
- 1 pinch of salt
- ground pepper
- 4 tbsp snipped fresh herbs by choice: chives, dill, fennel, parsley, coriander …
Cheese balls preparation
Combine cheese, salt and pepper. Stir it with a spatula until you get a homogeneous mixture.
Snip the herbs and spread them out in a plate. Make small cheese balls, then roll them in the herbs. Wet your hands to roll small balls, they will stick less. Garnish a dish and serve to accompany the aperitif.
Cheese balls are a tasty treat that is always admired at gatherings. They’re easy to make so this wont take a lot of your time but it’s guaranteed to impress your guests. You can also experiment with different flavours. Instead of herbs you can use spices like paprika, chili, pepper or you can roll them in chopped nuts like walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds. If you make them into small sizes it can be eaten as a bite, if make them into larger balls, then they can be eaten as a spread on crackers or bread.
